Removing Team Members

How to remove members from your organization and what happens to their data.

When a team member leaves your organization or no longer needs access, an Admin can remove them from Inori.

Remove a Member

  1. Navigate to Settings > Team.
  2. Find the member you want to remove.
  3. Click the three-dot menu on their row.
  4. Select Remove Member.
  5. Confirm the removal in the dialog.

The member loses access immediately and is signed out of all active sessions.

What Happens to Their Data

Removing a member does not delete any data they created or modified:

  • Records they created remain in their projects.
  • Notes and audit trail entries retain the member's name for accountability.
  • Uploaded certificates stay attached to their records.

The removed member's name appears as "Former Member" in activity feeds going forward.

Last Admin Protection

Inori requires every organization to have at least one Admin. If you are the only Admin:

  • You cannot remove yourself.
  • You cannot change your own role to a non-Admin role.

To step down as Admin, first promote another member to Admin, then ask them to change your role or remove you.

Re-inviting a Removed Member

You can re-invite a previously removed member at any time. They will need to accept the invitation again, and you can assign them a different role if needed.

Revoking Pending Invitations

If someone has not yet accepted their invitation, you can revoke it instead:

  1. In the Team list, find the pending invitation.
  2. Click the three-dot menu.
  3. Select Revoke Invitation.

This invalidates the invitation link immediately.
